Design and Build Quality

If you say, what is the good the rugged phone design I may say, look at this BV6300 Pro phone. Surely this is not the best design at all. But it is enough promising to convince you and say from your mouth this is different than cliché rugged phone design. Well that being said, let me clarify what does it mean.

Most of the rugged phone has an ordinary bulky looking design that does not upgrade from years. But this one has an almost sleek looking design as like a modern smartphone. Although this is not the top design as I admitted earlier.

This is black color slim phone has few color accent that makes it more attractive to me. Also the weight is lower than usual. This phone has just 230 gram weight. That is a lot lower than usual rugged phones. That makes it better to hold on the hand for long time. Talking about holding it has rubber back cover that provides better grip on the hand as well.

Blackview BV6300 Pro made out of hard TPU plastic. And, come with old 16:9 aspect ratio design with thicker chins and bezels. So there is four camera setup on the back. Three camera with a fingerprint sensor aligned in the middle with a camera and LED flashlight on the right side.

There are power key and two volume keys on the right side of the phone. And, SIM card slot on the left side as well. On the bottom you will USB type C and microphone as well.

There is a old style 5.7 inch 16:9 ratio display on the front with thickest chin and bezels.

Overall this may not look modern but sleek and thin to have better feeling in the hand. As well as, phone is stronger than any usual phone that available in the market right now.

Rugged Features

Rather than having good design it is always important have best rugged features for a rugged phone. That we can not deny by any means. That is why BV6300 Pro has one of the best rugged features that can possible have in a rugged phone. It has IP68/69K and MIL-STD 810G rated protection in order provide strength, waterproof, temperature proof, dustproof and any other extreme situation that you and your phone could face in outdoor.

Blackview BV6300 Pro

So, it has IP68 rating for water and dustproof. As you know this is the highest possible rating for that. This rating defines phone can survive 1.5 meter depth in the water for 30 minutes. If you are fisherman or work near water then you must have waterproof phone. Also if you are mine worker or plumber then your phone will must caught by dust and mud as well. But, do not need to worry this phone has well protection against these situation.

Also it has IP69K rated protection as well. But the main feature that makes it real rugged phone is MIlitary standard 810G rating. This rating is about Strength, durability, weather protection, solar radiation protection and many more.

This phone can survive -30°C temperature 60°C temperature with fully functional as well. Even if you go the hottest place or coolest place in the world you phone will be still working and able to make call as well.

Also, it is able to take better air pressure and solar radiation. But how about strength? This phone can survive from a 1.5-meter height drop on a normal surface and a 1.2-meter height drop on a concrete surface. This is the normal height of your pocket and that is where accidentally slip phone from hand instead of putting it in the pocket we drop it. Now your phone is perfectly protected from that.

Overall, this rugged phone is fully protected from any extreme outdoor situation and makes it more appeal to any rugged phone lovers.

Performance

Blackview BV6300 Pro has not only good design or rugged features but also it contains good hardware that provides better performance. At least according to the price this is a idea setup and maximum outcome that anyone can expect.

So, this rugged phone Mediatek Helio P70 CPU and ARM Mali G-72 GPU. When you have a low budget but you need better performance then there is no alternative of Mediatek processors. Well this may not good as Snapdragon but recently their processor has become good in performance too. And in Helio P70 one of their popular processors. This Octa-core processor provides better performance as well.

In you daily life uses you will never feel any lag or sudden performance drop with this phone. In my personal use, I tried to put extra load on the phone to see its limit but it passed every test perfectly.

Even if you often play heavy games there will be no problem with this phone. Although games run on medium graphics. But rendering is smooth so you will never feel that lacking anyway. I have played PUBG mobile on this phone. And that was a very good experience like my daily drive flagship phone.

Also, multitasking is very smooth and app switching is fast and smooth. Talking about multitasking, you need better RAM capacity to do multitasking and run heavy apps and games. That is why it has 6GB RAM on it. This higher capacity RAM allows running any app in the market with multitasking as well. And, this LPDDR4 RAM is very fast too.

You need better storage in your phone to keep your data safe. That is why it has 128GB onboard storage. I do not think you need external card, this storage should be enough for you. If you still need then you can expand it through external memory card. BV6300 Pro has that option.

All of these hardware runs on latest android operating system android 10. That defines how smooth this phone performance can be. There is no problem to use any apps in the phone. This is a good experience to operate this phone in daily life.

Display

Due to the budget issue, the BV6300 Pro does not contain a larger and best resolution display. But one thing for sure they have managed to solve this issue smartly. Since it has a 720P resolution display, they have reduced the display size to keep no lacking in sharpness. So, this phone has a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display. The display has no notch or cutout; this is an old-style display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

As I said, this lower size display solved lower resolution problem smartly. As a result, the display looks sharper and contains good color accuracy too. There is no problem with brightness too.

Watching any media content is eye-pleasing. And, that is what you can expect from a lower mid-budget phone. Due to decent brightness, I had no problem using it in direct sunlight.

Although I like this 18:9 aspect ratio most of you may not like it. But according to the price point, I think this is an ideal display.

As a rugged phone, protection is always come first. That is why it has corning gorilla glass 3 on the top of the display.

Overall, I would say this is a smart display choice to keep performance up to the mark and fulfill any customer’s satisfactory level. If they put a large display that may not get better sharpness and cause color problems too because of that low budget.

Camera

I do not know how but BV6300 Pro managed to put a decent four-camera setup on the back. Starting with a 16-megapixel main camera from SAMSUNG, then 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and then 2MP depth sensor, and a 0.3 MP lens that you should ignore like me.

That main camera photo has enough color and sharpness. Although this is not the best it serves the purpose. And that ultra wide angle lens has a 120° field of view.

Due to that depth sensor lens it can produce decent quality portrait photo as well.

Additionally camera has beautify mode, HDR mode, Panaroma mode as well. Above all, it has slow motion support too.

The back camera is able to shoot 1080P video at 30 frames per second. That is pretty ordinary since most of the low budget phone contains that. And this is well justified too.

Blackview BV6300 Pro front camera

On the front side this rugged phone contains 13MP selfie camera. This front camera selfie looks good in sharpness and color accuracy. It does the job decently that is all I can say about it.

Overall, this is a good camera setup for this rugged phone. Including that night mode, this camera pulls out the maximum outcome that may please you in some aspects.

Battery

I always says a rugged phone should have better battery backup. But this phone does not have that. This 4380 mAh battery is not the best at all. Although it provides decent 2 days backup in normal uses. When you are outside of home and can stay for more than a days you must require good battery capacity which is missing in this phone. In this budget there are few phone available with 6000+ mAh battery and that provides better battery backup as well.

Anyway, still, it has an 18W fast charge to charger this battery. As a bonus, it contains 10W wireless charging capability too! Overall, this is decent but not the best battery performance.

Misc

There have two nano-SIM cards on the phone and both can have a 4G network at the same time. Also, it has Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.1 WiFi. There has every necessary sensor that you may ask in your rugged phone.

To secure your phone it has a fingerprint sensor on the back. Sensor position is great! My hand easily reached it and able to unlock phone every time with no time.

NFC is also available in this phone. This NFC helps to do contactless payment such as google pay to pay money with your phone just like physical card.

And, still this phone has 3.5 mm headphone jack on the phone! While most of the phone get rid of this. It is good to see a physical headphone connection available in the phone.

Conclusion

For a lower mid budget phone this is a decent phone. Although there was something more that they could put such a good battery to have better battery backup. And, clearly that 0.3 MP lens is not useable at all. But according to the price point, what they have provided in the phone is more than expectation.

If you are looking for similar budget phone then you can check this and keep it on your wish list. There are few phones with similar budget I reviewed here you can check them too by following links. Then you can decide on your own whether you should get this phone or not. If you have no bother by this battery I obviously recommend this phone to you as your rugged outdoor phone without any hiccup.
